Design new or enhance existing Planning & Network Planning processes to be deployed in the Product Lines to deliver tangible business results.

Participating in strategic implementation and governance of advance planning systems to ensure capacity is available at the right time to meet Customer requirements and delivered through best designed Network Flows from suppliers to final Customer in strict compliance with vision & strategy.

My client is a leading Automotive organisation based in the west midlands

Description
  • Leads creation of the Inbound Material strategy with Purchasing and ME to define models, partners and standards for both external and Internal sourcing solutions, under guidance from Global function VP.

  • Member of the Division SC Board. So, contribute to the Supply Chain strategy

  • Leads network modelling and SC guidelines to optimise and contribute to sourcing decisions within the Product Lines

  • Leads relationship with Services by providing vision and expectations of types of services and service level expected

  • Divisional Process Owner for designing processes and standards for both Supply Planning (Capacity) and Material flows Management in terms of handling & storing, packaging, flow management, equipment and IT systems.



Methodology and Tools
  • Define excellence approach in Planning and Network Planning and ensures we have accurate processes and tools to execute it in the Product Lines (Network Modelling Tool, Involvement in NBA process, Packaging catalogue)

  • Coordinate requirements in Network modelling design and/or optimisation with Services as part of their portfolio of service offering



Management and organisation
  • Manages, functionally, the Divisional and Product Lines Planning & Material Flows management network

  • Provide functional and technical support to Product Lines where required

  • Develop internal (SC) and external partnerships to ensure all relevant stakeholders are aligned with SCM strategy and deployment model

  • Ensures the Product Lines Supply Chain organisation and resources are consistent with the strategy and policy

  • Contribute to define key roles within both Planning Process and Network Planning to standardise across Product Lines and support people development plan for SC team members

  • Develop Training Programs for SC experts in Planning in collaboration



Performance management
  • Monitor performance at Divisional level, by Product Lines and perform reviews as necessary

  • Supports budget construction process.

  • Develop and utilise appropriate SCM and Business Intelligence tools to drive process compliance and highlight exceptions

  • Ensure the accuracy of information and material flow across the extended value stream

  • To define and contribute to Divisional Planning processes (Strategic Plan, SIOP, Budget). Will be responsible for standardising the process, monitoring compliance with Product Lines where processes will be deployed.

  • Define Global SCM strategy and objectives to be deployed within the Product Lines, monitor results in terms of inventory reduction, lead-time and stock turn improvements

  • Develop a risk assessment method to manage the Supply Chain risks through SIOP and Extended Value Stream controls with appropriate actions and escalation when required

Profile

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

Essential

4 year degree or equivalent experience (10 years) required.

Production/Transport and logistics process leadership experience

Capacity Planning (S&OP, MPS, Detail Scheduling)

Desirable

APICS certification (ideally CSCP or CPIM) or similar (ISM, CSCMP, ASTL, ISCEA)

Lean training / certification in Production Excellence
