Your new company
A new opportunity has arisen to join a successful manufacturer based in the Leeds area. This established company are working exclusively with Hays to recruit for a Supply Chain Manager on a permanent basis.

Your new role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join the materials management team and report directly into the board of directors. As the Supply Chain Manager you will take a leadership role in executing effective and efficient procurement and supply chain services ensuring that the values and competencies of the business remain intact whilst maintaining transparency, integrity and compliance. Within the role you will be responsible for managing the entire process in the planning of Procurement, Supply Chain activities and the inventory control. You will ensure that the function processes are running effectively to avoid any costly delays and lost opportunities. You will ensure effective lines of communication between planning and production management whilst introducing process improvements in the supply chain by identifying new vendors and suppliers without risking quality and service delivery. In addition you will also head up the procurement function ensuring effective use of standard operating procedures, managing transactional procurement, including tendering processes, evaluation, contracting, contract management, supplier performance evaluation.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have the ability to lead a procurement process, have experience in managing suppliers, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, to possess excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to persuade and influence others. You will ideally hold a degree in Supply Chain Management, be CIPS qualified and be proficient in computer applications and systems.
