Job title: Supply Chain Planning and Support Manager
Reports to: Head of Inbound Supply Chain
Job purpose:
To support the Head of Inbound Supply Chain in his role, by effectively managing the day to day activity of the supply chain planning and support team 
To ensure stock availability is in line with customer expectations through accurate forecasting, safety stock management and the removal of blockages, bottlenecks and errors from the supply chain from an ordering and delivery perspective
To ensure stock holding is managed within agreed customer limits and meet internal stock days targets.
To drive efficiency into supply chain planning processes 
Key accountabilities:
" To effectively lead the team to ensure stock availability meets or exceeds target on all customers
" To ensure customer stock holding is maintained within contractually agreed limits and in line the business stock weeks.
" Development of the team and departmental structure that meet the expectations of the business.
" To be proactive in working to minimise and lower the total stock holding without negatively impacting availability and impact to the customer.
" To actively reduce and remove slow moving and obsolete stock from the business.
" To ensure completion of weekly work lists and forecasting requirements.
" To ensure safety stocks are accurately maintained.

Responsibilities of role (including number of people to be managed, turnover & budgets expressed in £ p.a.):
Skills & experience:
" Day to day management of a team of 8 people, in the supply chain planning and support functions.
" Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the department.
" Good communication across the supply chain to achieve goals.
" Effective management of direct reports in their roles.
" Removal of surprises from the supply chain.
" Providing relevant reporting documents for key stakeholders.
" Review of procedures to ensure they are effective and drive efficiency, whilst meeting the needs of the customer and the business.
" Managing concerns/expectations from other departments effectively.
" Conducting annual appraisals
" Customer presentations and engagement  as required
" First point of escalation for stock availability / supplier risk
" Monitoring of ordering levels/inbound flow into the business. Providing feedback and potential solutions to relevant stakeholders to address concerns.
" Regular one to one reporting and feedback to the Head of Inbound Supply Chain on departmental targets and measures.
" Regular one to one reviews with direct reports.
" Supporting other departments to ensure customer's needs are being met.
" Ensuring the necessary capacity is available to meet business needs.
" Authorisation in line with the delegation of authority.
¢ Previous experience in a supply chain planning management role
¢ Previous line management of a similar sized team
¢ Strong IT/Analytical skills and comfortable with numbers

Experience and Additional Requirements
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
