Role Purpose: Support Supply Chain operations through development of existing and new Warehouse Management processes & systems. Involvement in all stages of project lifecycle from process definition, solution design, testing, training and implementation across all sites in the Primark SC Network.

Location: Flexible - there will be extensive travel involved with the role

We currently have 7 depots in Europe that include Islip (Northamptonshire, UK), Thrapston (Northamptonshire, UK), Naas (ROI), Monchengladbach (Germany), Torija (Spain), Bor (Czech Republic), Roosendaal (Netherlands) and also a depot in Bethlehem (US).

Reports to: Programme Manager - WMS, Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Supply Chain Operations teams to define and prioritise new and existing site processes and functionality to support service and productivity initiatives
  • Develop and maintain process documentation that supports SC operations ways of working
  • Understand and support definition of future requirements and how these impact sites across the network to ensure deliverables are ‘fit for purpose’ and support SC cost and service metrics.
  • Develop and maintain structured delivery approach and plans to provide ability to swiftly roll out Warehouse systems and processes to both new build sites, and sites where we are replacing ‘legacy’ systems
  • Work with site teams to support testing and knowledge transfer as part of a standard template delivery approach, ensuring implementation roles are identified and resourced appropriately across all implementations
  • Act as ‘Functional Expert’ for all warehouse processes and provide subject matter expertise for other business projects and support queries
  • Work with SC Operations, ICT and other functions as necessary to ensure and how these may be impacted by project deliverables
  • Support in definition and delivery of project plan covering delivery timeline, costs, resourcing, comms, assets and people impacts
  • Flexibility on location as projects will require working on sites across Europe and the US for extended periods of time
  • Monitoring and Measuring
  • Work with current project governance reporting and plans, RAID logs, project updates, etc
  • Identify and implement areas of improvement to ensure strong governance is in place to ensure issues are mitigated swiftly
  • Understand dependencies/impacts of other SC and business change projects on current project and timings
  • People
  • Work with key SC stake holders both in the UK and overseas to support project deliverables
  • Engage with ICT and 3rd Party Partners to support the change project, working with Heavey/JDA to ensure any changes to the Warehouse Standard Template are clearly articulated and understood by development teams and clear prioritisation is in place
  • Identify key users from depot/other functions that are required for implementation of the standard warehouse system
  • Build your Primark network and work with other functions/projects within the broader Primark business (trading/finance/retail/sourcing) to ensure any project dependencies or impacts are clearly understood and planned for

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Experience in delivery of complex Supply Chain change projects
  • Experience in using standard project management techniques/methodology and tool sets
  • Knowledge and experience of Warehouse operations, and material flows from initial receipt through order management to despatch to store
  • Experience of JDA and Heavey voice warehouse systems either in key user/implementation role
  • Experience of working successfully in cross functional teams in geographically discrete locations.
  • Strong Process knowledge and understanding across logistics/supply chain
  • Rigorous and analytical approach to problem solving with the ability to operate under pressure in a fast moving environment
  • Experience of using excel spreadsheets/SQL or other query tools to analyse large data sets
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across and functions and with 3rd party partners.
  • Ability to use data quickly assimilate information and spot issues
  • Ability to deliver robust and sustainable change management through structured delivery plans
  • Experienced communicator, with ability to frame ideas and concepts in easily understandable terms
  • Ability to motivate and drive operational teams against challenging deadlines
