Field based Supply Chain Project Manager role - Generous car allowance

Our client is a market leader in their industry and are looking to recruit for a field based Supply Chain Project Manager. They are a national household name who are offering a great opportunity to develop and progress within a fairly antonymous role.


Your new role
In this role you will Project Manage cross-functional medium to large Supply Chain projects, ensuring operational and Customer Service Excellence is delivered in all areas whilst reporting into the Head of Commercial Operations. The company projects will be located within the UK or in other company markets; they can be supply chain strategic projects, requiring close cooperation with Supply Chain Directors (or teams) and other support functions, or they can be projects where the supply chain are a key enabler to a wider business objective, team or development.
  • You will outline, explain and initiate projects to meet business needs in line with an annual business plan objectives, and as directed by the Supply Chain Leadership.
  • Agree and set targets and measures of project success with the project sponsors.
  • Negotiate, agree and monitor project objectives, scope, deliverables, timescales and budgets throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • You will grow and maintain detailed and realistic project plans using appropriate methods whilst identifying and managing project dependencies within the critical path.
  • Working with the financial team you will obtain approval for costs. Track and manage costs within the approved budget, flagging exceptions and justify and obtain further funds if required.
  • Champion and influence the project team, resolving any conflicts or people issues.
  • Have the foresight to mitigate risks whilst identify, record and manage to prevent them from becoming problems, and using your judgement to know when to escalate.
  • Control and manage changes in project scope or requirements, negotiating as necessary with business stakeholders.
  • Ensure objectives and skills are recorded and used, before, during and after projects to enable continual improvement in Supply Chain run projects.
  • Ensure adherence to the Supply Chain Project Governance Process, providing regular status updates and escalating decisions as required.





What you'll need to succeed
  • Project management qualification or extensive experience
  • Extensive experience of managing Global Supply Chain projects
  • An in-depth understanding of project management principles, processes and best practice
  • Strong attention to detail skills with excellent organisational experience
  • Demonstrate great people skills and to have the ability to build strong professional relationships and credibility among stakeholders
  • Simplifies the disciplines of Project Management and can coach individuals through the process
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, and consider broader implications
