My client is looking for a Temporary Buyer on a 3 month interim assignment to manage and control purchasing requirements ensuring Raw Materials, Engineering Goods (Non-Stocked) and Services are procured in the most cost effective and business efficient manner.

Client Details

My client is a leading manufacturing organisation that specialises in the production of speciality plastic products and is one of the leading global brands in their field.


The Role

  • Appraise and select suppliers and contractors through a process of enquiry and negotiation and where appropriate use local and corporate contracts.
  • Monitor supplier and contractor performance and development of product range to ensure business is being directed to appropriate suppliers to the maximum benefit of Business.
  • Manage and negotiate supply contracts within the job holder’s portfolio for regularly purchased items and services, ensuring they meet end user requirements.
  • Manage and develop contractual and commercial relationships with a number of suppliers in order that a sustainable supply base delivers improvement in performance and value for money.
  • Manage and control the timing and frequency of purchasing activities to optimise the financial benefit to the business.


The Person

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to network and build strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong IT skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, other web based applications).
  • To be flexible, self-motivated and hardworking with the ability to prioritise and work accurately under pressure
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Ideally CIPS Qualified

Job Offer

My client is looking to pay a base salary up to circa £33k on a 3 month temporary contract for the ideal candidate
