A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Transport Controller to join a leading 3PL located in West Yorkshire. Based on the customer's site you will be responsible for liaising with all areas of the supply chain, ensuring that a first class service delivering product from the customer to the end user delivery sites.

Description



Working Monday to Friday on a 6-2/2-10 rotation the Transport Controller will be expected:





  • To drive a safety culture whereby each team member operates with safety as the primary concern and whereby safety challenge to colleagues is encouraged and developed



  • To ensure the efficient and effective achievement of all operational targets and key performance indicators.



  • Ensure that customer requirements are fulfilled to the highest possible standards at all times.



  • Ensure the fleet conforms to the customer's standards for both equipment and load securing.



  • Evolve and develop the current operation in line with the customer's aspirations to be ‘Best in class’ in its chosen field and share best practices with other sites



  • Ensure impeccable execution of the delivery service (daily/weekly planned routes) and reports that mirror this service, maintain and monitor all filing of documentation for areas of responsibility in line with company procedures.



  • Maintain effective communication with sites, central functions and customers.



  • Regular interaction with Transport Management leaders and colleagues in central functions.



  • Planning, Warehouse and Distribution operations are all within the remit of the Transport Controller and effective communication will be required across all functions





Profile



To be considered for the role of Transport Controller you must be able to demonstrate:





  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills



  • Good literacy and numeric skills





  • Previous experience of working in a logistics environment. Approximately 2 years.



  • Experience in Managing an operational team



  • Health & Safety Awareness



  • Attention to detail



  • Able to write clear & detailed reports.



  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.



  • Recognises the importance of team work



  • Customer Focused



  • Approachable



  • Team Player



  • Competent to work in a busy and demanding environment



  • Aptitude to develop and motivate others

Job Offer

The successful candidate wull be offered a salary of up to £24,000 dependent on experience.
