A Transport Fleet Operations Manager is required for one of the the South East's leading independent suppliers.

Client Details

Our client is a leading independent supplier based in the South East.

Description

The Transport Fleet Operations Manager will be based in Kent, with regular travel to key supplier locations. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Manage the fleet in compliance with current legislation and ‘O’ Licence requirements.
  • Operate the fleet within strict Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
  • Continually monitor, evaluate and improve transport effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide input into and have influence over transport strategy for the business.
  • Optimise profitability of distribution. Control costs and maintenance within budgetary requirements.
  • Maintain and continually improve our client's strong customer relationships and service record and to protect, enhance and promote the company brand.





Profile

The successful Transport Fleet Operations Manager will live within a commuting distance of the HQ in Kent and be willing to travel to key supplier locations.
  • We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of LGV, car and van fleets, proven leadership skills and ability to manage and motivate a large team operating out of a number of sites.
  • A self-motivated and disciplined individual with strong analytical and decision making skills and the ability to identify and progress opportunities.
  • A first class communicator able to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels.
  • With a CPC qualification in Road Transport Operations to National or International standard.
  • FORS accreditation and direct experience would be advantageous.
