To manage the Transport Operation on a day to day basis, maintaining the highest customer services requirements and complying with H&S standards. The role will be based permanently in one of their sites near Runcorn. Applicants must have Transport Management experience within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sectors to be considered.

Client Details

The client is a well established Logistics Operation that services a number of well known customers.


The role of the Transport Front Line Manager:
  • Assign work to the drivers,maximising both vehicle and manpower utilisation
  • Ensure drivers adhere to SOP's
  • To regularly review delivery routes to identify improvements to customer service
  • To ensure that all vehicles and associated equipment are operated in the appropriate and safe manner
  • Check that all the vehicles that have defects, are actioned in a timely manner
  • Prepare driver tachographs for monthly analysis
  • Work within all Legal requirements of Drivers Hours & Working Time Directives
  • To debrief all drivers on a daily basis checking that all paperwork has been returned and completed


The Successful Transport Front Line Manager will have:
  • Essential that applicants have experience in managing a Transport operation
  • Experience of load planning desirable
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Good IT Skills working with a number different Transport Management Systems
  • Experience Of Managing People
  • Knowledge Of EU Drivers Hours Regulations
  • CPC National (Preferred but not essential)

Job Offer

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000

Hours: Predominantly Monday - Friday (5am - 2pm / 10am - 6pm)

Weekend work can be expected (1 in 4)
