Do You Fit The Following Profile?

You are the experienced people manager we are looking for. You are able to translate new chances into opportunities and can easily manage working in a team. You are result-oriented, fast-paced and analytic. Dealing with suppliers is no problem; you take chances in order to get the best results.

The Position
As a Transport Manager, you effectively manage the Transport Department to ensure that collections and deliveries of cargo are completed in accordance with customers’ requirements and budgetary constraints. All legal issues pertaining to the operation of hauliers must be upheld. You procure and manage our sub-contracted haulage fleet in line with our Company Policies and Procedures from time to time in force. In addition, you actively coach team members to increase capabilities and performance.

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Developing the fleet, negotiating rates with hauliers and completing annual negotiations and tender processes with suppliers in conjunction with the Managing Director and the Central Procurement Department.
  • Building strong relationships with the supplier base by means of visits, in order to resolve transport-related issues.
  • Taking ownership of new projects and developing new procedures, such as implementing haulage capacity at additional ports and rolling out new track and trace systems.
  • Ensuring our transport equipment is safe and complies with legal requirements.
