Reporting to the North West Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and control of the internal and external transport resources.

Client Details

You will be joining a Global Market leader who are in the manufacturing industry and at the forefront of their market.

  • Overseeing all planning and organisation of the North West transport arrangements to ensure customers receive their orders on time in full
  • Daily operational responsibility for all North West transport planning & movements
  • Management of all North West transport function employees
  • Supplier and Performance management of transport suppliers and contracts
  • Responsible for managing transport costs, utilisation and invoice clearance
  • Compliance with applicable laws and licensing, including for example transport operators licensing, and drivers working time regulations for the Group
  • Measure, track and consistently beat transport performance targets through targeted KPIs
  • Ensure transport costs are in line with budget and any existing transport agreements
  • Support other sites and the Group as a whole with stock movements, fleet, compliance, supplier management and advice etc.


To be successful within this role you will have previous experience working as a Transport Manager. You will be a strong team manager who can manage and drive a team forward whilst also looking at wider business processed to look at ways of improvements and reducing costs where possible.
  • Transport Management CPC would be an advantage, although training would be given
  • Experience in leadership and management
  • Understanding of 3rd party logistics
  • Good knowledge of GB geography and transport routes
    Proficient PC skills with intermediary Microsoft Excel and Word (essential)
  • Strong communication skills and accuracy in work with high attention to detail
  • A flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work independently and additional hours when required to meet business or department demands
