Client Details

My Client is a large General Haulage company with a National Coverage; they are looking to find a Transport Planner - General Haulage to join their team.


  • Ensure safe, legal and effective planning and running of a fleet of vehicles and drivers.

  • Plan inbound and outbound deliveries and collections to ensure that customer service is achieved

  • Develop and maintain excellent communication channels with all relevant depots to promote good customer service.

  • Accurately input manual customer orders into the system.

  • Maintain regular communication channels with Drivers throughout shift and identify any issues in deliver time

  • Communicate any issues that may affect the agreed delivery time to relevant customer

  • Remain focused on providing an excellent level of customer service.


The sucessful Transport Planner - General Haulage will have a backgorund within the Logistics distribution and supply chain sector.

Monday - Friday 08:00am - 18:00pm and 1 in 3 Saturdays -6 hours

  • Experience of working within a busy Transport Office.

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels when dealing with Managers, Drivers and Customers

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Sound geographical knowledge & Ability to Manually plan routes

  • The ability to prioritise own workload based on the changes that occur with planned routes.

  • A good working knowledge of current computer programmes such as Word, Excel, Outlook

Job Offer

A salary of up to £28,000 - 20 days holiday + 7
