My client is looking for a transport planner who has 2 man home delivery or same day delivery experience who can deal with high volumes within a fast paced transport department.

Must be able to communicate effectively as the job involves liaising with customers, drivers and other operational departments.

You must be able to efficiently solve problems relating to distance and timescales in a demand driven environment.

The Transport Coordinator must be organised and logical, willing to adapt quickly to changing requirements and priorities.

The Transport Coordinator must be able to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment, communicating effectively with both colleagues and customers and following both verbal and written instructions.

Must have a flexible attitude to the needs of the business

Must have the ability to take ownership of a job and see it through


Liaising with drivers ensuring that their routes run as smoothly as possible Re-routing drivers if problems occur and advising customers of any delays Tracking vehicles out on multi-drop routes

Dealing with site and customer access issues

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Planning and organising skills,

  • Negotiating skills, ability to influence and steer.

  • Ability to work without direct supervision.

  • Adaptable and methodical approach to work/ training.

  • Conscientious and reliable.

  • Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.

Job Offer

A salary between £28,000 and £30,000 dependant on experience.
