The Transport Planner will plan and execute cost effective routes to a fleet of specialist vehicles nationwide. The role will be based at one of the clients sites near to Chester working within a small planning team. Only applications with Transport Planning experience within the Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain sector will be considered.

Client Details

My client is a well respected General Haulier with a number of sites in the UK. They work with a wide range of clients from small SME's to blue chips.

Description

The role of the Transport Planner:
  • Plan and manage resources to deliver a cost effective delivery service
  • Create economic delivery schedules delivering service in line with SLA’s
  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are in line with customer requirements
  • Minimise empty running, ensuring maximum productivity and improved revenue streams
  • Plan driver resource to ensure availability
  • Ensure the completion of all associated records or reports and resolve any inaccuracies, issues or complaints
  • Work closely with compliance colleagues ensuring equipment is always available for service schedules



Profile

The successful Transport Planner:
  • Ability to organise work load in a consistent and methodical way
  • Has ability to build and sustain excellent relationships
  • Demonstrable experience of Route planning excellence
  • Knowledge and understanding of EU Working Time Directive
  • Experienced in TM systems
  • Experience within General Haulage would be highly desirable

Job Offer

Salary: Very competitive salary: £25,000 - £30,000

Hours: Monday - Friday (06:00 - 14:00 and 10:00 - 19:00 rotating)
