Our client are recruiting for a tech savvy Transport Planner to be based at their site in Somerset to work with a large fleet of trucks operating on a National scale

Client Details

Based in Glastonbury, our client are a well-established and fast growing haulage business within Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain


The role of Transport Planner will be key in ensuring the operation is run smoothly and cost effectively both in the South West and on a National scale. Supporting the Transport Office, the role will include but not be limited to the following responsibilities:
  • Allocating resource for up to 100 trucks on a 1 day/2 day basis, ensuring that planning is effectively executed in advance
  • Analysing reports and spreadsheets to maximise efficiency when using sub-contractors
  • Communicating frequently with drivers and both internal & external customers, acting quickly if there are any problems ensuring maximum satisfaction for all parties


The successful Transport Planner candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • Excellent systems use and ability
  • Good geographical knowledge across the whole of the UK
  • Be commercially astute with a degree of budget awareness, including a history of working within them
  • Excellent communication skills when interacting with customers, drivers and all levels of management
  • CPC advantageous but not a pre requisite

Job Offer

The role of Transport Planner offers a salary between £25,000 and £30,000 with 20 days holiday (4 on, 4 off basis) and pension scheme, amongst other benefits
