This exciting Transport Planner opportunity has arisen due to growth in a number of sectors they operate in. Therefore, they are looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join their planning team. The role will be based in Crewe but travel to other UK sites may be required.

Client Details

A specialist distribution business with a number of sites across the UK.


The role of the Transport Planner:
  • Planning and coordinating driver load movements
  • Constantly liaise with drivers to ensure highest level of service is provided for deliveries to customers/sites
  • Responsible for ensuring service schedules and maintenance are adhered to
  • Arranging deliveries and devising transport routes in the most cost-effective method - all plans will be done manually
  • Ensure company guidelines, quality, Health & Safety, and service are maintained
  • Ensure empty legs is kept at highest quality to enable efficient reporting of empty running compared to revenue
  • Be able to problem solve individually, be a swift reactor to issues and bring solutions to team planning issues
  • Be target driven and motivated to constantly hit targets
  • Arrange movements of products to different sites


The Successful Transport Planner Applicant:
  • Worked in a senior planning role
  • Be able to manually plan cost effective routes on a national scale
  • Strong geography of the UK
  • Able to work in a number of different sectors with different product types
  • Competent with computer systems (excel and various TMS)

Job Offer

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 + benefits

Hours: Monday - Friday (days) with 1 in 3 Saturday's (8am - 2pm)
