The Transport Planner is responsible for executing the allocated plan, ensuring drivers and vehicles are compliant with transport regulations. The role holder will be responsible for liaising with both customers and drivers regarding delivery schedule. Permanently based in Widnes.

Client Details

A well recognised Logistics Operation with a number of sites UK wide.


The responsibilities of the Transport Planner:
  • Ensure drivers safety
  • Monitor driver’s hours keeping vehicles in line with compliance and allocated plan
  • Ensure all completions are complete in a timely manner
  • Ensure the plan is executed whilst maximising usage of resources
  • Ensure the most cost-effective operation of both vehicles and customer
  • Keep customers up to date with delivery schedules


The Successful Transport Planner applicant:
  • Previous experience with a busy transport operation in a planning role
  • CPC Holder (desired but not essential)
  • Working knowledge of EU Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations
  • Excellent organisation, communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent geographical knowledge
  • Proficient with TMS
  • Flexible approach to meet changing customer demands and work flows
  • Experience within a chemical, hazardous materials or bulk tankers is desirable

Job Offer

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000

Hours: Must be flexible to meet demands of the business
