The Transport Planner will plan effective transport solutions and control resources ensuring customer and business requirements are achieved while complying with legal responsibilities. This role will be based on one of the clients sites in Bolton.

Client Details

A well recognised Logistics provider with a number of sites across the UK.


The responsibilities of the Transport Planner:

  • To control the depot resources ensuring all legal constraints are adhered to (Working time directive and EU Drivers hours)
  • Produce effective transport plans ensuring all collections and deliveries are completed on time and in full
  • Ensuring Isotrak housekeeping is completed to the required standards
  • Communicate with MHS/CS regarding collection issues and late requests
  • Liaising with agency providers to ensure the required amount of driver resource is in place


The Successful Transport Planner applicant:

  • Excellent people skills
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Be accurate when maintaining records
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and with senior managers
  • To be flexible with hours of work as evening and weekend work may be required in line with business requirements (from time to time)
  • Strong analytical skills - spot trends, draw conclusions and make recommendations to management
  • The ability to generate reports
  • Good Geographical and UK road network knowledge
  • Experience within a Transport Office is essential for this role

Job Offer

Salary: £24,000 - £25,000 (DoE)

Hours: Monday - Friday (10:00 - 19:00)
