The Transport Planner will lead and support a team of drivers by effectively planning and dispatching routes to achieve contractual delivery times. You’ll also ensure that appropriate communication methods are used to provide information to both internal and external customers. This is a full time role based in Runcorn.

Specialist distribution business with a number of sites across the UK.


The role overview of the Transport Planner:
  • Responsibility for the running of a fleet of vehicles throughout the UK.
  • Ensuring daily compliance with road transport legislation.
  • Managing drivers assisting them with directions and planning.
  • Supervising and managing drivers work load.
  • Monitoring driver’s hours in line with the working time directive.
  • Ensure work is planned effectively and allocate resources in a cost-effective manner.
  • Provide regular updates on delivery times to customers.


What the Successful Transport Planner Applicant will look like:
  • Experience within a similar transportation role in either planning or administration
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Have a positive and can do attitude towards customers
  • Competent IT skills - TMS Systems and MS Office
  • Be able to work well in a small team
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to cope under pressure

Job Offer

Salary: £22,000

Hours: Monday - Friday (days) 8 hour days + 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
