The role of the Transport Shift Manager is to manage driver resources and performance ensuring a smooth and efficient transport operation that completes all deliveries on time, in full. The TSM will ensure vehicle compliance for a small fleet of units, adherence to the WTD and health and safety. Applicants must live within a commutable distance to Runcorn / Warrington / Liverpool

The role of the Transport Shift Manager:
  • Ensure the Transport Office is running compliant in terms of: Driver hours, H&S, business processes and security.
  • Create a strong customer service culture in your division to ensure all products are delivered to store on time and in full, to drive full availability for customers in line with plan.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement to identify improvements in work processes and manage the implementation of these to enable continued service development.
  • Listen and inspire the division by creating an environment that enables managers and colleagues to perform to their best and supports future development.
  • Continually monitor performance against KPIs identifying areas for improvement and driving initiatives.
  • Determine resource plans (weekly, monthly and annually).
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate regulations and company standards to contribute to an outstanding transport report.
  • Carry out effective, in-depth driver "Pre-Briefs" & "De-Briefs" at the start and end of every driver shift.
  • Monitor performance, timekeeping, overtime and sickness levels of drivers and take appropriate action.


The Successful Transport Shift Manager Applicant:
  • Will hold a Transport Management CPC (desirable)
  • Will have previous experience in managing a large driver workforce
  • Experience within a 3PL, Food or Retail background is highly desirable
  • Able to perform in a highly pressurised, fast paced transport environment
  • Proven experience in driving Continuous Improvements
  • All applicants must live within a commutable distance to a site based within the Liverpool area

Job Offer

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000

Hours: A high degree of flexibility is required to work on a number of rotating shift patterns
