My client is looking for a Transport Supervisor to join their busy distrubution centre and be a key part of their transport management team. You will be experienced within transport supervision and managing both planners and drivers.

Client Details



  • Planning driver hours (and ensuring compliance with legal requirements) and maintaining costs control in respect of overtime hours, agency, fuel expenditure etc.

  • Receiving order / delivery details and ensuring these are planned to the best use of resource.

  • Liaising with Central Fleet and external suppliers to ensure Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections are carried out within legal requirements.

  • Scheduling deliveries and liaising with hauliers (internal and external)

  • Monitoring and progress reporting on deliveries on a daily basis

  • Ensuring compliance with EU and VOSA regulations

  • To maintain a safe working environment in line with the Health & Safety at Work Act, Road Traffic Legislation and any other relevant legislation.

  • To ensure stock loss / damage is minimised

  • Assist the Contract Manager in controlling staffing levels e.g.: absenteeism.

  • Ensure the company’s disciplinary code in adhered to at all times

  • Identify and recommend subordinate staff training requirements.

  • To maintain a high level of good communications

  • To support and promote ‘continual improvement’ activities, helping with any ‘change management’ issues the company sees relevant to its ongoing development.

  • Producing KPI reports

  • Accruing and allocating costs to each movement

  • Resolve and reconcile job related queries

  • Control team briefings and staff awareness


  • Good Man – Management & Team Building Skills

  • Good understanding of Road Traffic Legislation and drivers’ hours regulations, (CPC advantageous)

  • Ability to Work Under Pressure and to Deadlines

  • Excellent Communication skills

  • Customer Focused & Innovative

  • Numerate

  • Good Attention to Detail

  • IT Literate

  • Knowledge of TMS would be an advantage.

Job Offer

A salary between £25,000 and £30,000 dependant on experience
