A national stockist distributor is looking for a Transport Supervisor based at their site in Bristol.

Client Details

Our client is a stockist distributor with a national outreach who boast a prestigious portfolio of clients. They are looking for a Transport Supervisor for their site in Bristol.



Description

  • To manage Health & Safety procedures and proactively develop Staysafe improvements and generate a Health & Safety culture within the transport team.
  • Plan and control daily/weekly resource requirements. Assess priorities and identifying any problem areas and act accordingly.
  • Ensure all relevant Branch Operating Procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all drivers are complying with the current legislation and any infringements are dealt with promptly.
  • Ensure that vehicles and trailers are inspected and maintained as per the Company requirements and in accordance with the goods vehicle operator's licence.
  • Ensure stock integrity through incoming and outgoing checking procedures
  • Drive improvements in housekeeping and maintain standards to the highest possible level.



Profile



Essential Qualifications

  • CPC Driver modules

Experience
  • Extensive general transport procedures and supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of merchant businesses.

Skills
  • Excellent people management skills and leadership qualities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to brief teams.
  • Commercial focus and drive. Able to work under pressure handling several key tasks at once and prioritising as necessary.

Knowledge:
  • Good basic IT knowledge.
  • Good Knowledge of Transport legislation.
  • Commercial awareness of both merchant operational and supply activities.

Other attributes:
  • Health & Safety trained and focused.
  • Ability to contribute to stay safe strategy and colleague engagement.
  • Prepared to correct inaccuracy, challenge poor practice and poor performance.
  • Keen to contribute to success of organisation.

Job Offer

Shifts:
  • Monday to Friday

Hours:
  • 08:00 - 17:30 (must be flexible)

Salary:
  • £25,000 - £27,000
