I am looking to actively engage candidates for a Warehouse Deputy Manager vacancy in Nottinghamshire. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing and distribution; additionally they will be a strong man-manager.

Client Details

My client is a rapidly growing SME manufacturing business in Nottinghamshire. The business is still family run and is going through a period of change and investment. They looking to expand their current operation and move into large premises.


As a Warehouse Deputy Manager you will report directly into the on-site Supply Chain Operations Manager. The sole functioning of a small warehouse with 15 members of staff will be entirely your responsibility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
  • Leading & developing a small team of 15 members of staff.
  • Weekly stock taking duties, along with the enforcement of KPI's.
  • Active management surrounding health & safety procedures.
  • To supervise the loading and unloading of customer supplier vehicles.
  • To plan and organise daily activities in order to maintain the service standards agreed.
  • To ensure that safety is a high priority issue among both employees and visitors to the site.
  • To ensure mobile plant maintenance and daily checks are carried out thoroughly.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvements of the organisation through active involvement.


The successful candidate will be an experience man-manager with strong examples of leadership within a manufacturing and logistics environment. They will have the following skills and experience:
  • Ideally 4+ years experience in a similar post.
  • Experienced in both manufacturing and logistics
  • Experience of managing and performance management small teams of employees.
  • The ability and willingness to be 'hands' on within the logistics environment.
  • Prove examples of continuous improvement, ideally 5S, Six-Sigma or Kaizen.
  • Proven examples of conducting and enforcing discplinarcy procedures.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certifed would be beneficial.
  • CILT Membership would be advantageous.
