The Warehouse Manager will proactively seek ways to improve cost, service, operational efficiency and security across the new site based in Liverpool.

An exciting business going through a period of growth with a number of sites across the UK.


The role of the Warehouse Manager:

  • To maintain the health, safety and welfare of employees and visitors and control the overall security of the site. Comply with H&S regulations by ensuring safe systems of work, risk assessments, accident investigations, inspections and reporting is completed and reviewed regularly.
  • Monitor and manage absence and timekeeping in line with company policy and chair disciplinary hearings to dismissal level.
  • Compile and manage training matrix identifying future development and succession planning. Performance manage by setting and monitoring key objectives whilst maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Create good ‘up and down’ communications ensuring company results, plans and forecasts are understood.
  • Adopt good picking, packing and despatch principles to achieve a service that delivers on time in full without damage.
  • Protect stock integrity with accurate inbound and outbound processing.
  • Ensure that all pick faces are tidy and adequate for the stock stored and constantly assess A, B and C category stock items are located correctly. Manage reverse logistics and provide daily activity reports.
  • Control operational spends monitoring overtime, temp staff and consumables.
  • Manage KPI’s to view targets daily and react accordingly to achieve the monthly plan. Monitor internal sales and marketing information to plan and cost additional resource for sales promotions and peak activities. Be responsible for plant and equipment and report damage immediately and assess root cause.

  • Strong leadership abilities, driving results through a team approach
  • Team building
  • Ability to engage, coach and develop your team
  • Strong communication skills, both internal and external
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making abilities and ability to integrate and apply information
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment
  • Start-up experience would be an advantage
  • Warehouse Management Systems experience and the ability to implement

Job Offer

Salary: £36k - £38k with a pay review after probation

Hours: Monday - Friday (days)
