This is the ideal opportunity for an analytically minded individual to join the operations management team. You will be responsible for managing a team that monitors the on boarding of all new warehouse starters, ensuring their training, continued development, on boarding administration and welfare is compliant. This is a day based role. You must come from a similar people resource management role. With multiple stakeholder management experience.

•Team Manager for the Warehouse Service Planning Clerks.

•Complete interviews and work samples for all new colleagues on the department, selecting those that are great with people and passionate about customer service.

•Complete my new colleague’s reviews and training on time, to ensure they feel welcome and supported.

•Manage teams annual holiday responding timely to requests and managing the required resource for the team, ensuring all holiday is booked/allocated as required.

• Manage absence in my team and support my colleagues to be at work.

•Support the team through pregnancy and family leave by understanding their needs, referring to people policies for guidance.

•Plan and monitor my own teams training, reviews and holiday management process. I develop my team’s skills and continually review their capability and performance:

•Ensure the Trainers train colleagues on operational training they need to complete their role and I validate the training they have received.

•Identify team’s different learning styles/requirements and provide coaching when necessary.

•Providing objective, data-based, open and honest feedback during everyday conversations.

•Supporting with any 'missed' performance within your team

•Accountability for the decisions necessary to resolve problems at work including any corrective measures in line with our policies.


Resource management responsibility within an operations and logistics environment or a retail management environment of at least 3 years + with proven experience managing large scale resource projects.

Responsible for ensuring effective planning and organisation of our colleagues by working with the operational management teams and our agency partners to ensure the right amount of colleagues are in the right place at the right time.

Deliver and continually evaluate/innovate and high quality rota, holiday and skills planning tools.

Proactively balance warehouse cost drivers to achieve the optimal results, from both a cost and service perspective.

Work with operational teams to produce and continually review rota patterns in line with operational key performance indicators and forecasts.

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Warehouse Service Planner(s) ensuring they are focused on inputting accurate information, service delivery, productivity/efficiency to agreed targets and communicating effectively with Team Managers.

Lead warehouse planning cross-functional projects as required.

Build effective warehouse planning for routines/activity, working in partnership with the Distribution Centre Manager, Lead Team, People Team and our Agency Partners.

Ensure that plans are translated into recognisable language and time-scales.

Ensure our plans are built from week -12, and work in collaboration with the operational teams to ensure resource is where it is needed by effectively communicating with all stakeholders,

Root cause where plans have not delivered the required results and put plans in place to prevent re-occurrence.

Job Offer

A salary between £24,000 and £30,000 dependant on experience.
