The Warehouse Team Leader is part of the operational team which has responsibility for movement and storage of goods to, from and within the site warehouse. The role function is to supervise the Warehouse Operatives in all matters concerning all goods movements and tracking.

To allocate work to all employees the jobholder has responsibility for, in a fair manner, whilst achieving operational requirements and ensuring the efficient and effective achievement of all operational targets and KPI’s.

To ensure excellent working relationships with the client, the client’s customers and internal customers within the organisation while ensuring all customer requirements are fulfilled to the highest possible standards at all times.

Attend any developmental training as required in compliance with the Companies commitment to Investors in People standard while maintaining an active commitment to the development all employees.

To undertake H&S management responsibilities (including conducting Safety Awareness tours; investigating personal accidents) and supervise staff effectively so that they follow Safe Systems of Work and do not cut corners.

To adhere to company and regulatory guidelines and legislation; follow Safe Systems of Work; deal with unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately if we see any and recognise that we are responsible for the health and safety of ourselves and for those working around us.

To ensure all security procedures are followed in order to maintain good stock integrity and to protect the Company’s assets. To assist the designated person(s) to enable the effective and efficient maintenance and repair of all MHE vehicles.

To ensure appropriate housekeeping standards are maintained including segregation of waste for disposal as defined in the Operations Procedures Manual.

Monitor attendance, absence, holidays, capability and conduct of team members – actioning reviews as required and conduct team member appraisals and reviews in accordance with company guidelines.

To carry out any other relevant duties as requested by the Line Manager to ensure the effective performance of the Parts Warehouse operation, for example to produce relevant operational reports as required.


Experience of Managing and Leading a team of people to achieve specific business results within a warehousing environment.

Health and Safety Awareness

Experience of planning and organisation of workload using available resources

Experience of working to achieve a high service level and product optimum results on behalf of the customer /client

Experience of preparing statistical reports to present to management

People Management skills

Security Awareness

Strong focus on providing a high level of service to customers/clients at all times.

Ability to deliver coaching / training

Knowledge of appraisal / absence management and disciplinary processes

Knowledge of accident investigations

Strong verbal communications with people at all levels including management

Ability to work in a dynamic business environment

Ability to lead and work as part of a team

Flexible approach to work at all times, including start and end times and weekend working (as required)



Job Offer

A salary of £27,000 + fantastic progression and benefits package
