My client is a global 3PL who is looking for an experienced warehouse supervisor to manage a team of 40 operatives across a day shift. You will be experienced within operations management, acheiving high KPI's and meeting and exceeding all SLA's set.

•Provide timely Management Information that adds value to the DC Operations on a regular basis as determined by the site General Manager.



•Manage site, departmental and individual performances to positively impact on site KPIs.



•Collate relevant statistical evidence as required, being proactive in the use of data to assist in decision making processes.







•Deputise for the operations manager as required, including conference call updates and reports required by the Head of Operations.



•Understanding and driving the delivery of the required KPIs to meet DC operational plans.



•Liaise with site functions such as HR, Finance, Health and Safety and Transport - to ensure operational activities are co-ordinated in achieving site KPIs.



•Manage the operatives, creating an engaging and positive work environment, encouraging feedback and continuous improvement on site.



•Promoting and maintaining high morale and effective engagement at all times.



•Act as a role model for the operatives to promote team work and collaboration.



•Maintaining effective working relationships with Union Stewards, escalating any potential issues to the General Manager/HR & T Manager in a timely manner,



•Ensuring that work is carried out to agreed standards, liaising with the HR team for the appropriate support and guidance required.



•Nurture and mentor operatives in all aspects of their role ensuring that areas for development are highlighted and appropriate plans are in place for their improvement.,



•Effectively manage the operatives to ensure that all people processes are followed fairly and consistently and within agreed timescales. eg Appraisals, Return to Work meetings.



•Promote a safe working environment for all employees by reporting all accidents or near-misses, following up on all accident investigations in a timely manner.



•Working with management team to forward plan resources, continuously evaluating opportunities for improvements in working methods that maximise cost saving in the DC.



•Communicate working practices and procedures to Team Leaders as required, monitor and ensure compliance at all times.



•Act in a professional and confidential manner at all levels; being aware of potentially sensitive information and its impact on the business on disclosure.



•Demonstrate positive and inspiring communication to the Team Leaders through regular team



•Measure and review the performance of Team Leaders, developing challenging and realistic targets, challenging poor performance and feeding back good performance regularly and within required timelines.



•Demonstrate safe working practices and any site specific procedures; observing, coaching and, challenging Team Leaders as required.



•Ensuring any legal requirements are met and equipment is maintained in line with client, company and statutory requirements.



•Liaising with other departments to ensure all work scheduling requirements are understood and clearly interpreted.



•Providing Senior Site Management with information on matters affecting the Operation in a timely manner.



•Planning and managing DC resources to meet fluctuating operational requirements.



•Participating in Operational Meetings and updating Team Leaders with accurate, relevant information to assist them to work effectively.



Profile



•Recognised management qualification



•MHE Experience/qualifications



•Full driving licence



•A proven record in Managing a large team of operatives



•Able to demonstrate and discuss confidently improvements in a similar environment in, processes, people management, service improvement and cost reduction/improved efficiency.



•Knowledge of KPI’s and their application



•Ability to diligently follow work procedures and safety rules



•Awareness of current Health and Safety Legislation and practices



•Two years supervisory/managerial experience



•Experience of working in a warehouse environment



•Experience of working in a unionised environment



•Awareness of Warehouse Management systems







•Excellent communication skills both verbal and written



•Effective organisational and time management skills.



•Effective influencing and negotiation skills



•Confident decision making and problem solving



•Statistical Analysis skills



•Proven PC and WMS literacy having used Microsoft packages







•Excellent report writing skills



•Project Management skills



•Presentation Skills experience



•Ability to deliver coaching/training







•Display a positive attitude and conduct themselves as a role model



•Ability to develop, coach and motivate others



•Experience in handling difficult situations



•Reliable and Self motivated



•Team player



Job Offer

A salary of £26,000 - £28,000 + benefits dependant on experience.
