We’ve now got thirteen Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) throughout the UK and Ireland. They all focus on getting great quality products to our stores. But it’s a huge task, which is why every RDC is split into four key areas: Transport, Warehouse, Maintenance and Quality Control. So just how do we keep things running so smoothly? With a lot of trust and support. Everyone is respected and listened to, and they know exactly what’s expected of them. So while people join for the hard-working team spirit and Aldi culture, they stay for much more.
Not just anyone can walk into one of our Regional Distribution Centres and get to work. You need to love getting both the big and little jobs done and have a ‘get on with it’ attitude that makes everything run beautifully. If you do, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect home for your fabulous skills. But whichever area you join, we will say this: there is an ‘Aldi type’.
We really care about what we do and we’d go to the ends of the earth to get it done (well, maybe not the end – but you know what we mean). So if you want take things easy and like to make a single job last all day, we’re probably not for you. But if you’re ready to make brave decisions, support people around you and get a kick out of being part of a world-class logistics operation, our doors are wide open.
There are new stores (and store extensions) opening all the time. But right now, the picture looks something like this. The UK’s divided up into 11 Aldi regions. Each region has its own Head Office led by a Managing Director, a group of Directors and our wonderful team of Administrators. Importantly, each region also has its own Regional Distribution Centre (or RDC) which takes care of the flow of goods, ensuring that our customers get all their favourite things on time.
