My client is a not for profit organisation, working within education and training is based out in central London. They have over 5,000 students on campus who are a combination of postgraduates and undergraduates. They're the leading higher education institution in Europe who specialise in the study of Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
As the assistant buyer, you will be responsible to provide professional procurement advice and guidance for stakeholders, while also overseeing two categories. You will be approaching and working closely with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that any processes are compliant with procurement regulations. Contract management will play a part in the role where you will ensure that contracts are adhered to from both parties.
As the assistant buyer, you will need to be confident in your approach when engaging with key stakeholders and suppliers. Knowledge of P2P systems would help however is not essential, working towards or a member of cips would also be desirable. The successful assistant buyer would show initiative in their approach to work, being able to find solutions to issues without the need for managers to get involved.
