Your new role
This is a maternity cover vacancy within the Procurement Team in Finance. The Assistant Procurement Officer will have responsibility for assisting the Procurement Officer in implementing Procurement Strategy, and ensuring adherence with the LJMU Financial Regulations. You will be responsible for Identifying and researching new category areas to achieve value for money and improved business processes. You will also work on OJEU tenders and play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with both internal stakeholder and suppliers. The role will also involve supervision of staff and leading on Procurement related training.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate must be a practitioner of Public Procurement Regulations (including OJEU and Contracts Finder) and must have extensive practical experience of complex tendering across numerous spend categories. You will be MCIPS qualified or working towards MCIPS and have proven experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously. You will also have experience of vetting terms and conditions within contracts.
