Category Manager - Leading Healthcare - £65K

Market-leading healthcare provider seeks an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join their team and work out of their glamorous Central-London office.

This role is suited to somebody with strong experience in Procurement, people management and is looking to take a step forward in joining an environment suited to development. Managing a team of 2 the successful Category Manager will be joining as an integral part of the team but also with uncapped potential for future progression as you will be working directly with the Head of Procurement and given every opportunity to grow from within the firm.

My client is a well-renowned name in the UK and is a leading provider of private healthcare, with hospitals located all over the country. Having been founded over 40 years ago the company has overseen rapid growth and has become a real force in the UK healthcare industry. This role will suit a Procurement Category Manager who is looking to make advancements in their career in line with this ever-expanding firm.

Procurement Category Manager Responsibilities:

  • Managing a large spend across the direct market - ensuring savings are maximised
  • Develop new strategies for business development and reporting to senior members as to how the company may take advantage of them.
  • Manage a team of two Procurement professionals
  • Negotiate, and create relationships with, internal & external suppliers whilst developing a strong network for each particular product.
  • Use computer processes that are currently in place, looking at each entire category and generating savings across them.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships - ensuring a positive working relationship is in place.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record of managing a large spend and delivering savings
  • History of negotiating with the ability to influence decisions in your favour
  • Good communication skills with past experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships
  • Friendly, driven person looking to maintain high standards and set an example for self as well as others
  • Healthcare/pharmaceutical background preferable
  • Driving license
  • IT literate, ability to use computer systems
  • CIPS
  • Degree desirable

Salary: £65k + 10% Bonus + Healthcare + Pension + other core benefits
