Freight & Customs Coordinator (HOMEWORKING)

Description

• Completing all Customs entries from start to finish for imports and exports, dealing with various modes of transport - road, train, air, and sea.

• Entering details onto specialised customs software including CHIEF, CNS, Destin8 and CFSP.

• Communicate with customers on Customs enquiries on both the phone and over email.

• Communicate with Account Managers and keep them updated with clearance information as the process progresses.

• Monitoring Destin8 and CNS for holds placed on shipments by ports, border force etc.

• Direct liaison with customers & Customs authorities such as HMRC & other agencies.

• Booking and coordinating freight shipments on behalf of account managers.

• Provide quotations and assistance on shipments for Customer Services/ Contracts/ Production departments including Same Day and timed deliveries.

• Assist in other day to day transport requirements

Profile

• Customs Clearance experience including familiarisation with customs processes, customs systems and HMRC regimes preferred.

• Understanding of freight forwarding required.

• Have a basic understanding of the law, legal codes, government regulations, political processes, and agency rules.

• IT knowledge including Microsoft Office.
