This continually expanding and hugely successful FTSE firm is looking to bring on board an energetic, ambitious and commercially minded procurement professional/senior buyer to take the lead on a ground-breaking new infrastructure contract with a total value in excess of £300 million

The successful individual will join the company during an exciting time as it continues to see success in delivering on some of the country's biggest infrastructure projects. This role offers the unparalleled chance to completely own all end to end procurement activities relating to direct materials, plant equipment, indirect services and subcontracts, as well as providing ample opportunity for progression with a company known for its career development.

This is a great opportunity to make an impact from day one, with the autonomy and responsibility to add value to the overall supply chain and develop relationships with senior level stakeholders. This role requires excellent stakeholder management skills and a drive to lead on managing crucial contracts and suppliers.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Running the full end to end procurement process, including preparing RFQs / ITTs and onboarding new suppliers all whilst carrying out due diligence
  • Devising and implementing procurement strategy, acting both as a standalone expert within the allotted categories but also as part of the wider business unit
  • Foster a community culture and collaborative approach with the customer and internal teams by exercising excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Auditing supplier performance to ensure contractual requirements are met, achieving significant value for money and the highest possible levels of service

The successful candidate will be able to display:

  • Previous senior experience (minimum 5 years) within procurement and supply chain, preferably within a construction, engineering, utilities or similar setting
  • Experience of managing subcontracts, as well as NEC contracts is desirable
  • Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the end to end procurement process
  • Strong academic track record, degree educated and CIPS qualified (desirable)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and supplier management skills
