Group Procurement Manager

The business specialising in telecommunication with fast growing regions around the world and require a leader with extensive procurement skills to take the business to the next level. This is ideal for an ambitious individual to undertake responsibilities for high and critical spend, working closely with key suppliers and managing relationships to ensure long term success for the business. This role will greatly enhance your procurement skills, with opportunities for professional development, training and career progression.

Based in central London, the business are a global engineering business that specialise in setting up telecommunication networks in the African region. The group procurement function is responsible for ensure procurement best practice, negotiating the best prices and building long term relationships with suppliers. The business offers high level of career growth and an opportunity to joining a successful and dynamic procurement team.

Description

The role will be to develop and execute the procurement strategy for all categories of spend (materials, components, capital equipment, engineering services and MRO), ensuring competitive advantage and sustainable year-on-year improvements in terms of cost, quality, service and innovation. You will work with a multitude of different stakeholders, while understanding key fundamentals and driving best value across all sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute sourcing strategy, supplier negotiation, leading tenders, risk management and contract execution.
  • Managing a team of two buyers, upskilling and supporting them in their day to day role.
  • Working on Bidding and Programmes, with a strong emphasis on leading and supporting strategic bids into external customers.
  • Develop key relationships with internal stakeholders and external supplier.
  • Negotiate supplier product support quotations against pricing trends/benchmarks/cost models
  • Designing and implementing RFQ's, tenders and auctions as appropriate

Profile

The ideal candidate will have the following skills;

  • Leadership skills, with experience managing a team
  • Strategic Procurement experience within an engineering or technical manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Previous knowledge and experience within bidding and tenders, is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a global organisation
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Engineering degree / CIPS qualified
  • Degree educated

Job Offer

up to £73,000 salary

+ 15% bonus
