My client is a very top tier business whose manufacturing and production operation requires a Head of Supply Chain to come in and lead the function.
The Head of Supply Chain will have both a very broad and very deep remit to the role, so the incumbent must come from the very top tier of candidates. Stakeholder management in every direction is absolutely fundamental to the role, and ability to drive change and improvement with a collaborative but also "get things done" approach will be key characteristics of the successful applicant. Looking after a number of functions, the applicant must be from a diverse background, whether that be automotive, aerospace, plastics etc, and have experience of working in a fast paced environment while still having the certainty and self-awareness to drive change and lead people towards that change.
The successful candidate will ideally come from an engineering background with experience of improving manufacturing and planning functions. Someone with continuous improvement experience or Lean Six Sigma skills would be ideally suited to the role. Change management is also a key skillset for the successful applicant, and this must encompass the full cradle to grave change management lifecycle with the ability to execute plans. All this must be coupled with excellent Supply Chain skills of the more traditional kind; i.e planning, inventory management and supplier interface.
Given that the role has a confidential element to it, I will discuss the package on offer in person with interested applicants.
