Import / Export Coordinator

You will be joining an international leader who are specialists within their niche market offering solutions to their clients with a collaborative approach.

Description

You duties as Import / Export Coordinator will include:

  • To track and manage outbound international shipments, particularly for key accounts
  • To troubleshoot and find solutions regarding detained or delayed shipments in liaison with carriers, customers, brokers, customs, and any other appropriate regulatory authorities
  • To support the UK and overseas sites with shipment issues
  • To coordinate special paperwork requirements with the dispatch team to ensure necessary documents are provided to relevant parties
  • Support on-going analysis to streamline the international paperwork process and generate innovative solutions
  • Track import requirements by country and scheme in order to provide a better efficiency for all customers
  • Support the the tracking of requirements to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide training to relevant colleagues on best practice
  • Monitor and analyse legal changes and ensure the implementation in the organisation
  • Provide advise on customs, intrastat and origin issues at the international level
  • Monitor the relevant processes to establish and maintain AEO status
  • Prepare customs, trend and risk reports

This is a full time permanent position - 37.5 hours/week; Monday-Friday 9am-5.30pm). 

Profile

To be successful with your application for Import / Export Coordinator you will have previous experience with the following:

  • A background in customer service / customs coordination
  • Experience working with different document types, paperwork and invoices
  • Knowledge of customs legislation and tariff classification
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to diplomatically coordinate activities across departments, locations, and customers
  • Ability to formulate and take forward ideas on own initiative
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • Personable, open demeanour; team player
