Logistics & Operations Manager for UK & North Job in Chesterfield

Your new role
To ensure the safe and efficient operation of all logistics, terminal and depot activity for the distribution of bulk LPG and cylinders across the North (UK & Nordic) Region.

To be able to set strategic direction for operations and logistics activity for the North region whilst ensuring the management of the logistics activity in the North region; of primary and secondary (for the UK) and oversight of secondary (for the Nordic) distribution and LPG storage facilities. To optimise performance by balancing safety, exceeding customer expectations and efficiency. You must be able to demonstrate strong leadership, management, coaching and development of the North region operations and logistic teams as well as day to day management of the safe and reliable operation of the bulk LPG and cylinder delivery supply chain across the North Region. To ensure all safe operations targets are met at all times, including all storage, loading terminals and depots HSSE cases and safety reports are kept fully up to date.

You will have the full responsibility for the operations and logistics budget, ensuring all financial targets are met.As a member of the North region senior management team, contribute actively to the success of the business and also to participate on the selection of and management of 3rd party logistic providers.

You will report directly to the VP of the North and will have 3 direct reports (Head of UK Operations, Head of UK Logistics, Head of Nordic Operations) overseeing circa 120 colleagues. There will be a requirement to travel Internationally for this role.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have a market leading level of knowledge within Multi-National logistics as well as possessing leadership skills within cross-border team management coupled with being commercially aware along with experience in stakeholder management. To be able to plan strategically and to be a strong decision maker. Proficiency in contingency planning and supply chain management whilst ensuring that quality and efficiency is maintained at all times. You must be a safety driven candidate who is also experienced in 3rd party management whilst ensuring you are always customer focused and maintaining impeccable cost management. This role will require an English speaking candidate

What you'll get in return
A salary of circa £90,000 with a generous performance based bonus scheme of 20-25%. You will also be entitled to a car allowance upwards of £5,000.
