Your new role As Material Planner, you will be responsible for liaising with suppliers to ensure material availability and forecast material requirements throughout the business. You will coordinate the planning/control of the supplier orders and forecasts, as well as managing any issues that arise regarding material availability. You will also be involved in continuous improvement activities to maximise efficiency within the Supply Chain department, and you will conduct root cause analysis surrounding delivery failures in order to enhance supplier performance. You will also carry out supplier reviews and report this back to your manager, identifying improvement areas.
What you'll need to succeed You will have 5 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade A-C (inc Maths and English), as well as excellent planning and organisational skills. You will have a commercial mindset and be a natural problem solver. It is important that you are strong with MS Excel and hold a full UK driving license, as you may be expected to attend off-site meetings.
