Michael Page are pleased to be supporting a leading global technology and manufacturing leader with the appointment of a permanent Materials Planning Manager to be based in Hastings.
The Materials Planning Manager will oversee the Planning team in planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle. This will involve directing and coordinating activities of employees engaged in Purchasing, Production Planning, Stores and Logistics.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies to maximise quality and service while minimising cost
Supervise and coordinate purchasing activities for required commodities and services, including the direct supervision of buyers.
Manage daily scheduling activities and take the lead in decision making on changes affecting material inventory and lead times
Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive inventory controls, and shipping and receiving policies
Develop inventory management programs with existing and new vendor base to minimise raw material inventory levels
Support the development and introduction of new products to ensure timelines and budgets are met and Inventory levels are managed
Ensure budget and schedules meet corporate requirements
Manage procedures and policies to ensure accuracy of BOM's, Routings, and master data
Maintain and utilise the ERP system for planning control, tracking and purchase of Direct and Indirect items and services
The successful Materials Planning Manager will be able to demonstrate:
Proven experience in purchasing, material management and logistics
An understanding of a lean manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of SAP or similar ERP
Materials Management (CPIM) or Purchasing (CIPS) certification
