MI Analyst

The client I'm representing are a well-known courier business based near Leeds.


As the MI Analyst you'll have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure all relevant reference data is accurate within all Final Mile databases
  • Use SAP HANA and Business Objects to conduct ad hoc analysis of data, measures and KPIs where required by the business to support performance improvements
  • Use SAP HANA or similar to prototype new logical measures and KPIs required by the network as part of the strategic EDW programme
  • Calculate and report on sub depot performance pay on a weekly basis and submit for bulk upload
  • Work with Data Services and IT to build report templates where appropriate
  • Link with the Field Training Team to ensure effective training interventions are created and developed
  • Manage Sunday pay reporting and create adjustments where appropriate. Escalate anomalous trends to Senior Managers accordingly.
  • Manage and process QBE (courier insurance) payments
  • Compile and report on Contractor ad hoc payments for approval by senior managers
  • Support courier pay team with complex pay queries
  • Monitor PRG (courier pay rates) changes against budget. Work alongside an automated process to correct errors (e.g. incorrect set up)
  • Approve courier day rate overrides where appropriate for couriers and contractors
  • Monitor and report on minimum wage requirements (Hermes Fair pay and NWM for SE+ couriers)


The successful candidate for MI Analyst role will have the following key skills & qualities:

  • Experience with advanced MS Excel features is essential including pivot tables.
  • Business Objects experience or similar
  • Highly numerate, a logical thinker, commercially-minded and accurate with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management skills with a professional and flexible approach to work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to liaise at all levels
  • Ability to link the data to the physical processes to correctly highlight issues and identify solutions
  • SAP HANA experience or similar
  • Experience of Microsoft Access, Oracle SQL.
  • Experience of Excel Macros and VBA
  • Experience of working within an agile delivery programmer
  • SOP writing and Process Mapping
  • Customer focused with a proactive and innovative approach to analysis and resolution of business issues
