The Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager in Freight Logistics will be :
Overall responsibility for the day to day management of the branch, with regard to all Operational functions, delegating tasks and responsibilities to relevant departmental managers and supervisors under your responsibility as appropriate.
Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, costs and rising environmental pressures.
Implement and maintain operational processes and procedures, report on performance, and initiate improvements for operations.
Establish and meet site objectives in the areas of operational performance, safety, quality, and customer service; provide accurate and timely submission of key operational quality, financial and safety reports.
Effectively recruit, train, develop, and appraise staff; take corrective action as necessary in a timely manner and consult with Branch Manager as appropriate.
To efficiently respond to customer and network requests for services to provide cost effective and efficient solutions ensuring that operational deadlines are adhered to.
Ensure compliance of standard operating procedures and legal requirements.
Maintain quality standards and excellent customer service, with full reference to and evaluation of network performance and quality KPI's.
Ensure that all reporting procedures are complied with.
Proactively manage the efficiency and effectiveness of all transport, forwarding and warehousing in a co-ordinated basis.
To liaise with other branches in the UK as well as other platforms and branches in the European network to secure open communications and good working relationships on the basis on integrated network responsibility.
