From the onset work experience will be focused in understanding all functions of Procurement from Project Scoping to Project Completion including understanding of all Project Approval Stages, The Tendering Cycle, Evaluation Documents Preparation and Managing the Process, Contract Awarding, Contract Registers, Forward Procurement Plans, Social Value, Ethical Issues, Whole Life Asset understanding and Supplier relationships through contract Management. Placements may take place with other Service Managers to understand Whole life Asset understanding.
During the 2nd year the apprentice is required to work around different Service Managers in Housing Assets and Development in learning core functions and to understand service constraints from the perspective of Service Managers when engaging with the Procurement Team so as to gain understanding on commercial negotiations, Supplier relationships, Contract Management issues, Preliminaries, Preambles, Pricing Schedules, and Specifications etc.

You will work towards Level 4 CIPS Qualification and after completion of CIPS Level 4 can advance to MCIPS Level 6 Professional stage as part of your Learning progression.
Following completion of CIPS Level 4 Diploma, the apprentice can progress onto MCIPS Level 6 professional stage qualifications depending upon identified need within the procurement team in filling in any knowledge gaps.
The Post of the Apprentice will be a fixed term 2 Years and currently based at Harbour Building at Waterfront West. Applicants are expected to work 37 hours per week
Salary will range from £4.20 to £9.77per hour (This is age Dependent).

You will need to have an interest in supporting Place Directorate business operations, working with a wide range of people across the directorate and contractors. Due to the nature of the service, you will need to be aware of the importance of confidentiality and be able to use discretion when dealing with matters that are sensitive or of commercial interest.
In return you will receive training, the opportunity to gain CIPS level qualifications at the onset of your fixed term and valuable experience to help you forge a career in procurement. On this 2 year fixed term Apprenticeship Programme you will gain experience & skills of working in the Procurement Section of Housing Assets and Development and gain some experience working within other Divisions of the Place Directorate, also with an opportunity to apply for future vacancies in Procurement if they become available.
