The client are a niche SME manufacturer with their global HQ in the UK, there is a sister site based in the US who manage their own procurement at present. The review will drive understanding of the capacity in the business moving forward and set up the procurement function for the future.
You will take an end to end view of the procurement structure and function both internally and externally. You will assess the supply base globally to understand capability and potential strategic improvements as well as understanding the internal structure and capability to allow you to make recommendations of process, procedure, engagement and future team structure.
Essentially you will have total ownership to understand the procurement climate for the business and identify a future proof plan for the processes and team ensuring success moving forward.
The successful candidate will have a strategic vision of direct procurement from a manufacturing background. You will have conducted strategic reviews and made and executed operational recommendations to set up fit for purpose procurement strategies and structures from local and low cost countries.
While this role is focused around the strategy there will be a flowdown of operational outcomes that need to be implemented across the group and the stakeholders so you will need to have an operational, transactional background and understanding to allow you to optimise the opportunity across the group.
You must have delivered procurement within a manufacturing environment.
This will be approx a 6 month role on a day rate.
