Due to significant new contracts being won and exciting new projects this FTSE multinational firm is looking to expand their direct procurement function and bring on board an ambitious procurement specialist/senior buyer who can hit the ground running and contribute to the success of this hugely important long-term contract worth over £200 million.

The successful individual will be joining a small specialist procurement team covering categories such as plant equipment, raw materials, infrastructure and subcontracts. The company itself is going from success to success and is well known as a market leader in its field.

Some of the key skills required for this role are:

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Developed knowledge of the full end to end procurement process
  • A well-developed negotiation ability
  • Knowledge of construction, engineering, infrastructure
  • Ambitious and pragmatic

The role of procurement specialist/senior buyer will involve:

  • Managing the full end to end procurement process, including preparing RFQs/ITTs, negotiating with suppliers at the highest level and awarding competitive contracts
  • Forming and implementing procurement strategy, acting as an ambassador for the company and forming a close relationship with senior stakeholders internally and externally
  • Complete regular evaluations and audits of supplier performance, ensuring consistent quality levels
  • Be responsible for managing specific supply chains and important sub-contracts, driving continuous improvement and acting as an expert for those around you

Key Requirements:

  • At least 4 years within procurement or supply chain
  • Strong educational background, degree educated and CIPS desirable
  • Experience of NEC3 contracts advantageous
  • Background in Construction, utilities, infrastructure, engineering or related industries
