Purchasing Manager

My client is a global engineering business specialising in extreme environment products and smart sub-system's for the aerospace, defence and energy markets.


  • Management of resource within the buying team to ensure all purchase orders are placed in time with suppliers to ensure deliveries meet production demand
  • Ensure supplier schedules and exception message reports are managed, action and maintained on a weekly basis
  • Work with production planning and operations to mitigate risk to production or sales output due to late or non-delivery of purchased parts
  • Maintain Production output report with best current delivery dates for purchased items
  • Represent Purchasing at the arrears and weekly shortage meetings
  • Responsible for PPV targets, data management and presentations
  • Take the lead on agreed supplier development programmes
  • Manage and develop low cost sourcing activities, in conjunction with group procurement and group strategy


  • Knowledge of Purchasing within the aerospace industry
  • SAP or similar MRP knowledge
  • Analytical skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of technical drawings and specifications
  • Communication skills
  • CIPs
