Your new role

You must ensure full responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of employees and any other persons who are under their control, including the allocation of necessary resources, both in terms of time and finances, to enable employees to carry out their roles safely. To take personal action to stop or suspend any activity that may be dangerous or is not carried out in line with the Group H&S Operating procedures, and to bring any such issues or breaches of statutory requirements to the attention of the nominated H&S site Rep.

Attending internal and external meetings and courses is also required for this role as well as performing other duties as maybe commensurate with the post which do not change the character or purpose of the post but which are necessary to maintain high standards of business practice as requested by the Senior Team / MD / CEO. Making sure duties are carried out in accordance with the job description and all established Company policies and procedures. Understanding that the job description / associated policies and procedures may be altered from time to time to meet the changing needs of the Company.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be educated to degree / HNC level or equivalent strong Mechanical Engineering background. Have previous experience working within a fast-paced FMCG (preferable) or retail Quality Department with a good working knowledge gained from a similar Quality Engineering role. Have lead Auditor training knowledge and experience aswell as a strong understanding of working to ISO 9001:2015. Whilst experience in testing preferable and knowledge of quality sampling techniques it is not essential.

An ability to challenge and improve testing regimes as well as to demonstrate experience in failure investigation and root cause analysis. To be able to lead / support problem solving to meet an effective outcome whilst ensuring all stages the process is effectively communicated and to write procedures and maintain the company standards and documentation.

Excellent Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint), and SAP experience is also advantageous

Skills that are highly sought after are to be methodical, thorough, be able to demonstrate an accurate application of tests, excellent project, time management and organisational skills. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills whilst maintaining first-class customer service skills and in possession of excellent relationship management. To be able to influence skills, assertiveness and comfortable with challenging views or beliefs whilst ensuring sound decision making skills.

If you are driven by quality and safety conscious with a good commercial awareness and result oriented and target driven. Being a self-confident, self-motivated and enthusiastic person who is flexible and adaptable.
A successful applicant will have an excellent work ethic and be comfortable working under pressure, multi-tasking, and to often tight timescales

You must have a Full UK Valid Driving Licence and be able to be able to commit to undertaking UK / International travel as required.

What you'll get in return
A salary of up to £30,000 working Monday to Friday 8:30 -17:00 with 28 days holiday also including a fantastic bonus scheme.
