Senior Buyer

Accountable for Project Supply Chain specific categories / suppliers within the UK and Global Operations. Act as the intermediary between the supplier and the business, representing the company both internally and externally on all supply and logistics issues.

Client Details

My client is one of the largest suppliers into the food & beverage processing industry and a wide range of other process industries with over 15,000 employee globally.

They are seeking a Senior Buyer / Category Buyer to join their Project Supply Chain team based in Southampton. The Senior Buyer will report directly into the Project Supply Chain Manager.

  • Take a steering role in the local project supply chain team as well as a contributor in day to day operational buying.
  • Ensure clear visibility for the team in terms of assigned project and workload.
  • Establish, limit, maintain and develop the supplier matrix portfolio in consultation with strategic procurement, engineering, operation and service.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the supply base and deliver cost reduction and quality enhancement.


  • Operational Procurement knowledge within a mechanical / electrical engineering environment.
