Stock Manager

I am partnering with a leading FMCG provider for the position of a Stock Manager. This role is unique in the sense it will service many of the key retailers across the UK and offer the opportunity for the successful candidate to work from home 1-3 days of the week.

That said, it will also require flexibility to suit business needs as certain clients stock takes will be conducted across multiple sites and on rare occasions out of hours, resulting in limited amounts of unsociable working.


This position will:

  • Report into the Regional Stock Manager
  • Be responsible for developing & implementing a robust PI and stock count strategies to ensure optimal stock integrity levels in-line with agreed business targets
  • Encourage you to thoroughly understand and interpret all data relating to stock performance and implement proactive and innovative solutions to exceed operational performance targets and ensure liabilities are controlled and mitigated
  • Ensure all stock discrepancies are analysed and resolved in a timely manner to minimise the potential liabilities on the business
  • Ensure all potential risks are identified and communicated to the Senior Operations Management team at the earliest opportunity
  • Prepare resource requirement forecasts to support operational budget process
    Maintain all aspects of stock integrity and ensure ownership of activities and resolutions
  • Ensure that all team costs are in line with the approved business budgets To create a consistent reporting suite and output measuring critical stock integrity metrics across the business.

This role will also require this person to manager a particular region for the business with Peterborough being a good base location for this individual to live. You must be flexible to work from home on 1-3 days of the week and travel within a particular region to service key clients.


The successful candidate for the Stock Manager position in Peterborough will have the following skills and experiences:

  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background.
  • Have 1+ years Stock Control, Stock Supervisor, Stock Manager experience.
  • Previous Stock Management experience in a Warehousing environment would be advantageous.
  • Candidates will also be considered that have Logistics experience across Warehousing, Transport and Transport Planning.
  • Experience working with mainstream WMS systems is desirable, SAP would be advantageous.
  • Good IT knowledge, being an advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
