My client is a growing SME who has recently been taken over by a larger European business. Their site in Basingstoke has over 50 operatives across both manufacturing and assemblies lines as well as the wider Supply Chain, Design & Engineering team on-site. After the take over they have some exciting growth plans and need an individual to streamline processes, improve efficiency, control costs and monitor supplier performance.
The focus is to lead the small team of two (Junior Buyer/Inventory Manager) at Basingstoke to ensure sufficient stock levels to supply to customers; both the customer in manufacturing or the end user. Order stock from current/new suppliers whilst focusing on cost, quality and delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a Procurement and Supply Chain background within a manufacturing business with management experience. Have knowledge of sourcing and negotiation of new suppliers, supplier relationship management, implementation of supplier score cards and knowledge of the wider Supply Chain functions.
