Team Manager - Procurement Business Partnering

An important element in developing the City Council’s approach is consistently achieving value for money through our contracts and expenditure with external suppliers. The new Supplier Management service aims to be the ‘best in class’ by creating a cohesive approach to needs assessment, procurement and contract management and working with our suppliers to achieve the best possible services for our customers.

The Supplier Management service is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced procurement professional to join us in the role of Team Manager - Procurement Business Partner. This role will be responsible for overseeing the team of Procurement Business Partners and acting as the City Council's expert in procurement matters. This is a key role within the Supplier Management Team and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver end to end procurement projects, effectively manage the priorities of a team and evidence a sound knowledge of procurement practices and legislation within the public sector. The role will work closely with the contract management function and provide a major contribution to the development of procurement processes, tools and systems to meet the needs of the City Council.

Please note the salary quoted is based on full time hours (37 hours).  
It is usual for successful candidates to start at the bottom of the pay grade.
